Our small vans, known as Short Wheel Base vans, are reliable and perfect for transporting a small load. These vans can fit small household furniture and most domestic appliances, such as white goods, without being too big or bulky to drive.

They are cost-effective, well suited to urban areas, and would be the perfect choice for parents helping their children with a student move, or a trip to collect some flat-pack furniture.

Large Vans (Long Wheel Base)

Large vans, known as Long Wheel Base (LWB) vans, are our vehicle of choice for couriers and construction industries. LWB vans are capable of carrying longer and heavy loads, and are taller than short wheelbase vans, offering extra height as well as extra length. A long wheel base also provides a smoother drive, thanks to more space between the axles.

These vans are extremely versatile and capable of holding most items of household furniture.

Box Vans (Luton Tail Lift)

Box vans, otherwise known as Lutons, are the largest vehicle we offer in our self-drive fleet and one of our most popular choices. These vans are perfect for moving large items, with the additional bonus of a half-tonne tail lift to assist with the loading of heavier items. Luton vans are designed to make it easier to strap large items to the side of the van, such as wardrobes or furniture, making it much more space efficient than other van types.

Box vans are the vehicle of choice for large house moves, as they can easily accommodate multiple bulky items at once. They’ve also got some useful space over the cab, where you can store light but bulky objects like cushions or duvets.

If you’re a first time Luton driver, bear in mind that they’re wider than a panel van, and a little more top heavy when loaded. Take corners slowly, brake further ahead than you would in a car, and ask someone to help when reversing into tight spaces.
